About Philip

Philip was born and raised in Newcastle upon Tyne and began teaching in 2014 after gaining degrees in both Media and English. After training and teaching in the Northeast of England, he taught in schools, colleges and universities in Thailand and Australia before moving to London for five years and working as an EAP lecturer at the University of Roehampton.

Philip’s teaching philosophy is ‘education through communication’ and his strengths as a trainer and teacher are his compassion and adaptability; being understanding of diverse needs and backgrounds allows him to tailor his communication with an eye tfor creating and maintaining effective working relationships. This ensures not only equality, but the best environment for learning, growth, and development.

Outside of work, Philip spends his evenings and weekends with friends and family at live music events, comedy gigs, or goes for long walks around Northumberland. He is also currently learning to play the guitar and is making his way through the novels of P.G. Wodehouse.
