About Alec

Alec joined the pathway college team at Northumbria University in January 2019 as an English for Academic Purposes Lecturer. He then worked within the team as a Module Leader and Deputy Programme Leader before starting his current role in July 2023. Before joining the team, Alec spent 10 years teaching Academic and General English in East Asia, Central Europe and the UK.

Alec’s professional interests lie in learning technologies, historical linguistics, and English as a Lingua Franca. Outside of work, he enjoys sports, writing, and travelling.
